Dear Members of the Korean Knee Society,
Greetings to the esteemed members of the Korean Knee Society.
I have taken on the heavy responsibility of serving as the 36th President of the Korean Knee Society, an organization responsible for the advancement of knee medicine and the knee health of the citizens of South Korea. Personally, it is an immense honor, but at the same time, I feel a great weight on my shoulders when contemplating the direction our society must take in this rapidly changing medical environment.
First, I would like to express my deepest respect and gratitude to the former presidents and the past and present council members who have elevated our society to a world-class level through their dedicated efforts, as well as to all members who have quietly done their best in their respective clinical and research fields.
During my term, I intend to listen closely to the opinions of our members and lead the society by focusing on the following three core values:
First, securing the society's academic excellence and strengthening its global prestige.
Our society already possesses world-class academic capabilities. To further solidify this, we will vitalize domestic and international academic exchanges and actively support our journal, KSRR, so that it can continue to expand its international influence.
Second, the advancement and standardization of clinical practice guidelines.
We will rationally integrate rapidly developing new medical technologies, such as robotic surgery, regenerative medicine, and digital healthcare, into our field. Based on this, we will establish objective and reliable clinical guidelines. This will serve as the cornerstone for protecting the clinical rights of our members and ensuring safe treatments for our patients.
Third, a society united through communication and harmony.
We will broaden the avenues for communication where university hospitals, private clinics, and senior and junior doctors can share their experiences and knowledge to mutually thrive. Through open management that bridges regions and generations, we will build a warm academic community where all members feel a sense of belonging and pride.
Beloved members,
The history of the Korean Knee Society is the very history of knee medicine in South Korea. Every step we take will offer new hope to our patients and serve as a milestone for future generations.
I humbly ask for your active participation and support on this new journey. Finally, I wish you, your families, and your workplaces abundant health and happiness always.
Thank you.
Yong InPresident, Korean Knee Society
